It is very helpful to know some of the most frequently asked interview questions when getting ready for an interview. Here is a quick list of questions that you might want to be prepared for.

Can you tell me a little about yourself?
This is probably one of the most frequently asked interview questions that you can almost expect on every interview that you go on. This is the standard way for interviewers to open an interview and get you talking. If you only do one thing to prepare for an interview, you should think about how you would answer this question.

Given that everybody is unique, there is no perfect answer to this question. One thing to think about is not what you say as your answer but more so how you organize your response. Don’t just answer with one sentence. Try to talk for a little bit. Treat it like you are going to tell a story about you. Give your story a beginning, a middle, and an end.

What do you know about us?
One of the most frequently asked interview questions to prepare for is one where they ask you how much you know about them. This question is primarily a test to see if you have done your homework and how seriously you are taking the interview that you are currently on.

What will impress the interviewer is if you display that you are extremely prepared and interested in the position that you are interviewing for. One way to do this is show that you have researched the company and they will give you the opportunity to prove this when they ask this question.

Why should we hire you?
If an interviewer knows what they are doing, they will try to get you to sell them on why you are the best person for the job and they will use a question similar to this to give you an opportunity to do this.

This is your opportunity to close the deal. You can outline all of the things that you have to bring to the position. You can share how you differ from all of the other candidates that they interview.

What are your greatest strengths / weaknesses?
Just expect to have to face the standard “what are your strengths” and “what are your weaknesses” questions. These questions are actually becoming less common because interviewers are getting more sophisticated and know that the answers that they get to these questions can sometimes not be all that valuable.

But you should try to be prepared with answers to these. Think of really good strengths to share and also think of things that you can share as weaknesses that don’t make you look bad.

Do you have any questions for us?
This question is not only sure to come up on almost every interview, but the way you respond to this is very important. You never want to end an interview without asking any questions, even if you don’t have any.

Try to think of some questions that you can ask about the company, about the position, or about the organization that you would be a part of.
